Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Cryptosporidium.
Trends in Parasitology, 2018Cryptosporidium species differ in host range. Parasite-host coevolution, host adaptation, and geographic segregation have led to the formation of subtype families with unique phenotypic traits within the major human-pathogenic species C.

Evolutionary Rescue in Structured Populations
The American Naturalist, 2014Environmental change, if severe, can drive a population extinct unless the population succeeds in adapting to the new conditions. How likely is a population to win the race between population decline and adaptive evolution? Assuming that environmental degradation progresses across a habitat, we analyze the impact of several ecological factors on the ...

Isonymy structure of USA population
American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 2001The isonymy structure of the 48 states of the continental United States of America was studied using the surname distributions of 18 million telephone users, distributed in 247 towns. The shortest linear distance between nearest neighbor towns included in the sample was 12.0 km. The largest distance was 4,577 km.

Population Structure of Oomycetes
1999The class Oomycetes includes saprobes and pathogens of both plants and insects. However, the plant pathogens have been studied most intensively so will be the primary subject of this chapter. Important plant pathogens include Pythium, Phytophthora, and the Peronosporaceae, commonly known as the downy mildews.

The Markov Structure of Population Growth
Acta Applicandae Mathematicae, 1989Some problems concerning the development of general models of population growth are examined, with particular reference to Markovian modelling. The tenet of the paper is that such models can be more realistically attempted by focusing on temporal rather than spatial modifications.

NIR news, 2014
Many recipes for how to do an NIR calibration begin with a step that combines rejecting outliers with splitting the available samples into calibration and validation sets. This is sometimes referred to as structuring the population, though it has other names as well.
