Geographic Variation of Vegetative Characters of Populus deltoides

Systematic Botany, 1986
Spatial autocorrelation analysis was used to study the patterns of geographic varia- tion in Populus deltoides (Salicaceae). Ten characters reflecting the vegetative morphology in this species were analyzed for each of 522 individuals in 302 localities scattered throughout eastern North America. Factor analysis reduced the dimensionality of the matrix.

Somatic Embryogenesis of Populus deltoides

2022
Node, internode, and leaf explants of Populus deltoides Bartr. ex Marsh. x Populus deltoides Bartr. ex Marsh. hybrid poplar clone (89 M 066) tissue culture regenerated plantlets were used for direct and indirect somatic embryogenesis. Direct somatic embryos were differentiated on node, internode and leaf explants on Murashige and Skoog basal medium (MS)

Litter production in a Populus deltoides marsh. Plantation

Forest Ecology and Management, 1986
Abstract Litter production was estimated in a 13-year-old Polulus deltoides Marsh. plantation, at Dehra Dun, India. Maximum litter fall occurred in October (1931 kg/ha) and the second peak was observed in May (440.7 kg/ha). Leaf litter accounted for 92.6% of the total litter production. Total annual litter production was 3.1 t/ha/year.

Axillary shoot proliferation and growth of Populus deltoides shoot cultures

Plant Cell Reports, 1990
Shoot cultures of four genotypes of Populus deltoides Bartr. ex Marsh. were established from adventitious shoots regenerated from internodal stem explants. Stable shoot cultures for all four genotypes were maintained in a continuous culture regime for over one year.

Length and sequence heterogeneity in 5S rDNA ofPopulus deltoides

Genome, 2002
The 5S rRNA genes and their associated non-transcribed spacer (NTS) regions are present as repeat units arranged in tandem arrays in plant genomes. Length heterogeneity in 5S rDNA repeats was previously identified in Populus deltoides and was also observed in the present study.

Response of stomatal resistance and photosynthesis to night temperature in Populus deltoides

Oecologia, 1979
Ramets from stem cuttings of three populations of Populus deltoides Bartr. from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Louisiana representing a latitudinal gradient were grown in pots outdoors at Urbana, Illinois and brought indoors for growth chamber studies. Leaf resistance and photosynthetic response to low night temperatures of 4° and 10° C were determined ...

A FUSARIUM CANKER DISEASE OF POPULUS DELTOIDES MARSH.

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1961
Two morphologically distinct types of Fusarium solani sensu S. & H. induce a characteristic canker disease on P. deltoides on low-lying sites in Quebec. Studies on the morphology and pathogenicity of the causal organism are presented.

2014
In eastern cottonwood (Populus deltoides Marsch.) growing under conditions of mercury processing integrated works, high direct correlational connection has been revealed between mercury a umulation and TBA-active combinations in leaves. During the first part of plants vegetation period, 15 cases of significant correlational connections between the ...
