Kinetics of porcine circovirus type 2 replication

Archives of Virology, 2002
The kinetics of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) replication in PK15 cells was examined. During productive infection, viral antigens, RNA transcripts and progeny viruses all increased in a time dependent manner. Viral antigens were observed in a few cells at 18 hour postinfection (h p.i.) and cell-free progeny viruses began to appear at about 30 h p.i.

Applicability of Raman spectroscopy on porcine parvovirus and porcine circovirus type 2 detection

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2021
Porcine parvovirus (PPV) is one of the major infectious causes of reproductive failure of swine. This disease is characterized by embryonic and fetal infection and death, responsible for important economic losses. PPV is also implicated as a trigger in the development of post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) caused by Porcine circovirus ...

Infection studies on human cell lines with porcine circovirus type 1 and porcine circovirus type 2

Xenotransplantation, 2004
Abstract:  Background:  The lack of human donor organs in allotransplantation has led to a proposal for the use of porcine tissues and organs as alternative therapeutic material for humans. Besides immunological problems like graft rejection, one of the major concerns is the transmission of porcine microorganisms as viruses, bacteria and fungi to a ...
