Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

A Numerical Model for Pore Pressure Buildup in a Porous Seabed under the Action of Combined Waves and Current

open access: yes, 2014
A finite element model for the pore pressure responses under the action of combined waves and current is proposed and verified with the existing experimental data. In this numerical model, both transient and residual pore pressure responses are simulated

Porosity and effective stress relationships in mudrocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
It has generally been assumed that porosity reduction during mechanical compaction of a sediment is controlled by the increase in vertical effective stress. But the theory of mechanical compaction shows that it is the mean effective stress which controls

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pore pressure prediction in a carbonate reservoir

open access: yes, 2012
An unreviewed version of the paper available as SPE publication: 150836-MS , DOI 10.2118/150836-MSAbstract Knowledge of pore fluid pressure is essential for safe drilling and efficient reservoir modelling.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
