Permeability and the Size Distribution of Pores [PDF]
MANY attempts have been made to find a relation between permeability and other measurable properties of porous materials such as particle-size and porosity. The Kozeny equation, which depends on surface area of particles and porosity, has come into rather general use in fields concerned with flow of water, oil and gases and a considerable literature ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Estimation of the pore size distribution from the moisture characteristic [PDF]
Most pF curves are shaped as cumulative distribution functions. From this observation, restricted to nonshrinking or swelling soils, a close relationship is established between the moisture characteristic and the pore size distribution, based on an ...

POROSIMETRY BY DOUBLE-RANDOM MULTIPLE TREE STRUCTURING IN VIRTUAL CONCRETE
Two different porosimetry methods are presented in two successive papers. Inspiration for the development came from the rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT) approach used in robotics.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Research on the influence of pore parameters of carbon aerogel on infrared interference performance
The porosity parameter is one of the characteristic parameters of carbon aerogel, and the porosity and pore size distribution affect the infrared interference performance of carbon aerogel.

Multimodels computation for adsorption capacity of activated carbon
The pore size distribution of activated carbon is conventionally characterized with nitrogen adsorption measurements at 77 K. The adsorption isotherms are commonly analyzed with a nonlocal density functional theory in combination with a mathematical ...

Evaluation of Extrusion Technique for Nanosizing Liposomes
The aim of the present study was to study the efficiency of different techniques used for nanosizing liposomes. Further, the aim was also to evaluate the effect of process parameters of extrusion techniques used for nanosizing liposomes on the size and ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
