Experimental study on the lubrication characteristics of porous journal bearings with hydrodynamic shape forming at annular surface under sine-wave vibrated conditions (Examination into the shaft whirling behavior at pivot supported condition by measuring the time history waveform on shaft with parameter of vibrated Frequency changes)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
This report describes the study on the lubrication characteristics of porous journal bearings as a DC spindle motor's bearing system made with oil impregnated sintered materials having some hydrodynamic shapes. Herring Bone (I & II), Three Lobed

Experimental study on the lubrication characteristics of porous journal bearings with hydrodynamic shape forming at annular surface under sine-wave vibrated conditions (Examination into the shaft rotating behavior at the starting state by identifying the rotational modes with Frequency Spectrum Analysis of the time history waveform on shaft)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
This report describes the study on the lubrication characteristics of porous journal bearings, which were made with oil impregnated sintered materials having some hydrodynamic shapes, to apply them for a DC Spindle Motor’s bearing system. Herring Bone (I

Three-Dimensional Bioprinting Materials with Potential Application in Preprosthetic Surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Current methods in handling maxillofacial defects are not robust and are highly dependent on the surgeon’s skills and the inherent potential in the patients’ bodies for regenerating lost tissues.

A continuum model of multi-phase reactive transport in igneous systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Multi-phase reactive transport processes are ubiquitous in igneous systems. A challenging aspect of modelling igneous phenomena is that they range from solid-dominated porous to liquid-dominated suspension flows and therefore entail a wide spectrum of ...

Composition, distribution and supposed origin of mineral inclusions in sessile oak wood - consequences for microdensitometrical analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
SEM and light-microscopical observations, supported by chemical microanalysis with an EDXA system, revealed that light-saturated pixels observed in X-ray negatives of sessile oak (Quercus petraea Liebl.) wood were caused by inorganic deposits present ...

Hydromagnetic Squeeze Film in Rough Porous Narrow Journal Bearing: A Study of Slip Effect

open access: yesTribology Online, 2017
This article aims to study the influence of slip on a hydromagnetic squeeze film in transversely rough porous narrow journal bearing. The Neuringer-Rosensweig model governs the fluid flow. The slip model of the Beavers and Joseph has been used.

Study on Mechanism of Lubrication in Porous Journal Bearings. Static Characteristics of Porous Journal Bearings With Sealed Ends at Start of Operation.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1997
A theoretical investigation of static characteristics at the start of operation is developed for a porous journal bearing with sealed ends lubricated only by the oil initially provided within its structures. Numerical results show that a negative pressure region exists in the porous matrix just below the oil-film rupture zone.

Fabrication of Electrically Conductive, Fluid Impermeable Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) Graphite Bipolar Plates by Indirect Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Graphite bipolar plates are highly desirable due to their properties of high electrical conductivity and low weight but are associated with prohibitive machining costs arising from poor mechanical properties.
