Hydrogen atom/molecule adsorption on 2D metallic porphyrin: A first-principles study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Hydrogen is a promising element for applications in new energy sources like fuel cells. One key issue for such applications is storing hydrogen. And, to improve storage capacity, understanding the interaction mechanism between hydrogen and possible storage materials is critical.

Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary layer at Stevns Klint (Denmark): copper and copper(II) porphyrins [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 1999
High concentrations (up to 4000 ppm) of copper(II) porphyrins have been detected in the kerogen of the Cretaceous/Tertiary (KT) boundary informal type sediment, the Fish Clay, at Stevns Klint, Denmark. These pigments have also been found in the Danish KT

Constructing Covalent Organic Polymers through Dative B─N Bonds: Synthesis, Single Crystal Structures, and Physical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic linkages are highly attractive in preparing single crystals of covalent organic polymers (COPs). Here, single crystals of two COPs CityU‐15 and CityU‐16 based on reversible B─N bonds are constructed using tetra(4‐pyridyl)tetrathiafulvalene and tetra(4‐pyridyl)porphine as monomers.

Unusual Bandgap Oscillations in Template-Directed π-Conjugated Porphyrin Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 7, 2362 (2016), 2018
Using large-scale DFT calculations (up to 1,476 atoms and 18,432 orbitals), we present the first detailed analysis on the unusual electronic properties of recently synthesized porphyrin nanotubes. We surprisingly observe extremely large oscillations in the bandgap of these nanostructures as a function of size, in contradiction to typical quantum ...

Synthesis, Photophysical Properties, and Toxicity of o-Xylene-Bridged Porphyrin Dimers

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
In this work, a number of new porphyrin dimers coupled with spacers based on α,α’-dibromo-o-xylene were synthesized and characterized by 1H, 13C NMR, 1H-1H COSY NMR, UV-vis-spectroscopy, and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

2D Vermiculite Nanolaminated Membranes for Efficient Organic Solvent Nanofiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intercalating multivalent cations into 2D vermiculite nanolaminates significantly improves the structural stability and sieving capabilities of membranes in both aqueous and organic media, rendering them effective for organic solvent nanofiltration. Abstract Membrane separation technology has found widespread application in molecular sieving and water ...

Reductive Functionalization of Graphenides with Nickel(II) Porphyrin Diazonium Compounds [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Status Solidi RRL 2017, 1700306, 2018
A novel type of a graphene/porphyrin hybrid with a direct covalent linker between graphene and a nickel(II) tetraphenylporphyrin unit has successfully been synthesized by the reductive exfoliation/functionalization of potassium intercalated graphite as starting material.

Recent Advances in Single‐Atom Catalyst for Solar Energy Conversion: A Comprehensive Review and Future Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the potential of single‐atom catalysts in three key photocatalytic reactions: the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), nitrogen reduction reaction for ammonia synthesis, and carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) for chemical fuels.

Synthesis of 5-(4-X-Phenyl)-10,15,20-tris(Substituted Phenyl) Porphyrins Using Dipyrromethanes

open access: yesMolecules, 2001
5-(4-X-Phenyl)-10,15,20-tris(substituted phenyl) porphyrins (4-6) were synthesized from meso-(substituted phenyl) dipyrromethanes (1-3), which in turn were prepared in yields of 75-92 %.
