Measurable Hermitian-positive functions
Mathematical Notes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, 1978Let\(\mathfrak{B}_a^c ,\mathfrak{B}_a^m ,\mathfrak{B}_a^s (0 0). The theorem is proved that for every\(f \in \mathfrak{B}_a^m \backslash (\mathfrak{B}_a^c \cup \mathfrak{B}_a^s )\) there correspond\(f_c \in \mathfrak{B}_a^c\) and\(f_s \in \mathfrak{B}_a^s\), such that f=fc + fs. Some unsolved problems related to this theorem are formulated.

Strictly Positive Radon Measures
Journal of the London Mathematical Society, 1994Let \(X\) be topological Hausdorff space and let \(O\) be an open subset of \(X\). By definition a function \(u: X\to [0,\infty)\) belongs to \(H_ O(X)\) if for every \(\alpha>0\) the set \(\{u\geq \alpha\}\) is a compact subset of \(O\). A Radon measure \(\mu\) is said to be supported by \(X\), if \(\mu(O)\) is strictly positive for every non-void ...

A multidirectional interferometer system is developed to determine the position and orientation of a stage moved in a two-dimensional (2-D) space. In this system four corner-cube prisms are mounted on the moving stage, and four laser beams are incident on the corner cubes in different directions. Moving distances in the observed directions are measured

In this chapter we look at consequences of lower bounds on the measure m for a graph (𝑏, 𝑐) over a discrete measure space (𝑋, 𝑚). We formulate the lower bound assumptions in two ways.

Temperature measuring position for electrical measurements
2009 International Students and Young Scientists Workshop "Photonics and Microsystems", 2009To investigate complex properties of material, measurements must be performed in wide range of temperatures. It is important especially in measurements of gas and humidity. The impedance spectroscopy measuring position allowing us to performing measurements in wide range of temperatures was made. Heating and cooling was performed by Peltier module unit.

Measuring Responsibilities in Nursing Positions
The American Journal of Nursing, 1961gical nurses, delivery room nurses? Those in the emergency room? These were some of the questions we asked ourselves about a year ago when we were faced with some perplexing problems of nurse turnover and staffing. Like most hospitals, we were paying staff nurses the same basic salary range regardless of assignment, on the assumption that the jobs were

Stabilization of 3D Position Measurement
2013Within the particular context of ToF imaging we investigate a real-time cost-efficient filtering method for the stabilization of 3D data. The current limitation in frame rate, resolution and intrinsic depth measurement accuracy of range finding imaging systems, together with the reflective and motion properties of the objects in the scene, may lead to ...

Quantum Measurement with a Positive Operator-Valued Measure
Acta Physica Hungarica B) Quantum Electronics, 2003In the quantum theory of measurement, the positive operator-valued measure (POVM) is an important concept, and its implementation can be useful. Following a brief review of the mathematics of POVMs in quantum theory, a particular implementation of a POVM for use in the measurement of nonorthogonal photon polarization states is reviewed.

On the Selection of Compact Subsets of Positive Measure from Analytic Sets of Positive Measure
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1974An important but seemingly difficult problem is to decide whether or not an analytic set A of positive h-measure, for some continuous Hausdorff function h, contains a compact subset C of positive h-measure, in every complete separable metric space Ω.By extending some earlier work of R. O. Davies [1], M. Sion and D.

On the Measurability of Positive Definite and Conditionally Positive Definite Functions
Mathematische Nachrichten, 1986Let f be a positive definite function on a locally compact abelian group G. In this paper we show that measurability of f on an open neighbourhood of the zero implies measurability of f on G. The same result holds for conditionally positive definite functions.
