This study evaluated immune‐related biomarkers in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors after postoperative recurrence. PD‐L1 expression in tumor‐associated macrophages and tumor cells, together with HLA class I downregulation and HLA‐DR expression, were associated with favorable responses to immunotherapy.

Symmetry and Positive Definiteness in Oriented Matroids
We show the properties of a class of oriented matroids that properly generalizes the class of oriented matroids that can be represented by matrices of the form (I, − A), where A is a real n × n symmetric matrix and I is the n × n identity matrix. Several

Products of positive definite matrices. II [PDF]
I. The author gives, for every positive integer \(j\), necessary and sufficient conditions for a \(2\times 2\) real matrix (with positive determinant) to be a product of \(j\) positive definite real symmetric matrices (if \(j\ge 5\), every real matrix with positive determinant can be written as such a product).

A Unifying Approach to Self‐Organizing Systems Interacting via Conservation Laws
The article develops a unified way to model and analyze self‐organizing systems whose interactions are constrained by conservation laws. It represents physical/biological/engineered networks as graphs and builds projection operators (from incidence/cycle structure) that enforce those constraints and decompose network variables into constrained versus ...

Explaining the Origin of Negative Poisson's Ratio in Amorphous Networks With Machine Learning
This review summarizes how machine learning (ML) breaks the “vicious cycle” in designing auxetic amorphous networks. By transitioning from traditional “black‐box” optimization to an interpretable “AI‐Physics” closed‐loop paradigm, ML is shown to not only discover highly optimized structures—such as all‐convex polygon networks—but also unveil hidden ...

A technique for maintaining the positive definiteness of the matrices in the quasi-Newton version of the SQP algorithm is proposed. In our algorithm, matrices approximating the Hessian of the augmented Lagrangian are updated. The positive definiteness of

p-Norm SDD tensors and eigenvalue localization
We present a new class of nonsingular tensors (p-norm strictly diagonally dominant tensors), which is a subclass of strong H $\mathcal{H}$ -tensors.

Kriging, cokriging, radial basis functions and the role of positive definiteness
There are at least three developments for interpolators that lead to the same functional form for the interpolator; the thin plate spline, radial basis functions and the regression method known as kriging.
