Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

A New High-Gain Operational Amplifier Using Transconductance-Enhancement Topology Integrated With Metal Oxide TFTs

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2019
This paper presents an integrated operational amplifier (OPAMP) consisting of only n-type metal oxide thin-film transistors. In addition to using positive feedback in the input differential pair, a transconductance-enhancement topology is applied to ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

On the global attractor of delay differential equations with unimodal feedback

open access: yes, 2009
We give bounds for the global attractor of the delay differential equation x(over dot) (t) = -mu x(t) + f(x(t - tau)), where f is unimodal and has negative Schwarzian derivative.

Functional evolution of a morphogenetic gradient

open access: yeseLife, 2016
Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) pattern the dorsal-ventral axis of bilaterian embryos; however, their roles in the evolution of body plan are largely unknown. We examined their functional evolution in fly embryos.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Modeling flux linkages of an induction motor in dynamic modes. Comparison of the effectiveness of various control algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник, 2019
This article presents the results of studies that substantiated the effectiveness of the dynamic positive feedback on the stator current proposed by the authors in asynchronous frequencycontrolled electric drives. Experimental studies carried out over

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Feedback in Higher Education: Exploring students’ appraisal, comprehension and utilisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Whilst at University students will experience many instances of feedback on their work. Quite often such feedback is facilitated by academic lecturers in the hope that the student will utilise this and improve in their next assessment (Hester, 2001 ...
