Positive feedback, memory, and the predictability of earthquakes [PDF]
We review the “critical point” concept for large earthquakes and enlarge it in the framework of so-called “finite-time singularities.” The singular behavior associated with accelerated seismic release is shown to result from a positive feedback of the seismic activity on its release rate.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The effectiveness of feedback channels in hotels in Malawi: perspectives of guests
This study investigates the perceptions of hotel guests of the effectiveness of feedback channels available in hotels in Malawi. The study found that suggestion boxes are the most common feedback channel in hotels.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Positive feedback loops and multistationarity
The aim of the paper is to draw the attention of mathematicians to complex systems, frequent in biology and related fields, which comprise multiple feedback loops. Such systems may be described in terms of ordinary differential equations. Since most of these differential equations are non-linear, these systems can not be treated analytically.

Positive Feedbacks of Coagulation [PDF]
Tissue factor (TF), the initiator of coagulation, continuously circulates in the plasma, and the clotting system “idles,” generating very low levels of active clotting enzymes, clotting products, and by-products. Given the enormous amplification potential of the clotting cascade, rigorous control is required to ensure that such low-level stimulation ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Four-wave mixing on thermal nonlinearity in a scheme with positive feedback [PDF]
The influence of feedback for both signal and object waves on the amplitude reflection coefficient of a four-wave radiation converter on thermal nonlinearity has been considered.
