Positive Solutions to a System of Coupled Hadamard Fractional Boundary Value Problems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We explore the existence, uniqueness, and multiplicity of positive solutions to a system of Hadamard fractional differential equations that contain fractional integral terms.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Positive solutions for nonlinear Robin problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
We consider a parametric Robin problem driven by the p-Laplacian with an indefinite potential and with a superlinear reaction term which does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. We look for positive solutions.

Positive Solutions for a Semipositone Singular ψ–Riemann–Liouville Fractional Boundary Value Problem

open access: yesMathematics
We explore the existence of positive solutions to a ψ–Riemann–Liouville fractional differential equation with a parameter and a sign-changing singular nonlinearity, supplemented with nonlocal boundary conditions which contain Riemann–Stieltjes integrals ...

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Positive solutions for nonlinear elliptic systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
In this article, we study the existence of positive solutions for the system $$displaylines{ Delta u=H(x,u,v),cr Delta v=K(x,u,v),hbox{in }mathbb{R}^n; (ngeq 3), }$$ where $H,K: mathbb{R}^nimes[0,infty)imes[0,infty)o[0,infty)$ are continuous ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
