An Animal Model of Central Auditory Pathway Imaging in the Rat Brain by High Resolution Small Animal Positron Emission Tomography

open access: yes, 2011
Conclusions. Our study demonstrated that high resolution animal positron emission tomography (PET) can non-invasively assess the change in glucose metabolism of the central auditory pathway including the inferior colliculus and auditory cortex in the rat.

A Foundation Model Based CT Biomarker for Non‐Invasive Prediction of Response to Neoadjuvant Immunochemotherapy in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a foundation model‐based biomarker for risk stratification of pathological response in non‐small cell lung cancer. A Vision Mamba super‐resolution model standardizes heterogeneous CT images. A multi‐task Swin Transformer then fine‐tunes a pre‐trained lung foundation model to jointly optimize tumor segmentation and response ...

From Materials to Medical Images: Translating Perovskite‐Based X‐Ray Detectors Toward Clinical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors from a materials‐to‐medical‐images perspective. Recent progress in perovskite‐based X‐ray detectors is discussed with emphasis on their relevance to clinical imaging. The key barriers to clinical implementation are analyzed.

Hyperpolarization of [1‐13C]Ketoisocaproate‐d2 by Reversible Exchange with Parahydrogen Enables Profiling of Branched‐Chain‐Amino‐Acid Metabolism in Cellulo and in Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the fast generation of biocompatible solutions of highly 13C‐hyperpolarized (≈11%) partially‐deuterated ketoisocaproate within <6 min using spin‐lock‐induced crossing and reversible exchange with parahydrogen (SLIC‐SABRE). This enables rapid detection of branched‐chain‐amino‐acid transferase 1 (BCAT1) protein expression and investigation of ...

GLUT1 expression patterns in different Hodgkin lymphoma subtypes and progressively transformed germinal centers

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Increased glycolytic activity is a hallmark of cancer, allowing staging and restaging with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron-emission-tomography (PET).

Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

Whole Body Positron Emission Tomography with 18f-Fluoro-2-Deoxyglucose for the Detection of Recurrent Ovarian Cancer

open access: yes, 2009
Although many cancers can be detected by whole-body positron emission tomography (PET) with 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose ( FDG), there has been limited clinical experience with FDG- PET for the detection of recurrent ovarian cancers.

A fast Bayesian reconstruction algorithm for emission tomography with entropy prior converging to feasible images

open access: yes, 1990
The development and tests of an iterative reconstruction algorithm for emission tomography based on Bayesian statistical concepts are described. The algorithm uses the entropy of the generated image as a prior distribution, can be accelerated by the ...

Preoperative Gemcitabine/Nab‐Paclitaxel With Concurrent Radiation Therapy for Borderline Resectable Pancreatic Cancer: A Comparative Analysis With Preoperative Chemoradiation Therapy Using Gemcitabine Alone

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Although NCCN guidelines recommend preoperative therapy for borderline resectable pancreatic cancer (BR‐PC), it is still unclear which regimen is better. The study objective was to elucidate the prognostic significance of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) with gemcitabine/nab‐paclitaxel (GnP‐RT) compared to gemcitabine alone ...

Extent of Lymph Node Dissection for cStage I Siewert Type I/II Cancers Based on Lymph Node Metastasis Risk Stratification

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim The optimal surgical strategy and extent of lymph node (LN) dissection for clinical Stage I (cStage I) adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) remain controversial. This study aimed to evaluate surgical outcomes and clarify the prevalence and distribution of LN metastasis according to tumor characteristics in cStage I Siewert ...
