In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Thermal post-buckling behavior of ceramic-based FGM circular plates with linear variable thickness
The governing differential equations of ceramic-based functionally graded material (FGM) circular plate with linear variable thickness along the radius in thermal environment were established. The thermal post-buckling behaviors of variable thickness FGM

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Use of elastic stability analysis to explain the stress-dependent nature of soil strength [PDF]
The peak and critical state strengths of sands are linearly related to the stress level, just as the frictional resistance to sliding along an interface is related to the normal force. The analogy with frictional sliding has led to the use of a ‘friction

Study the Postbuckling of Hexagonal Piezoelectric Nanowires with Surface Effect [PDF]
Piezoelectric nanobeams having circular, rectangular and hexagonal cross-sections are synthesized and used in various Nano structures; however, piezoelectric nanobeams with hexagonal cross-sections have not been studied in detail.

Selected Problems of Determining Critical Loads in Sructures with Stable Post-Critical Behaviour. [PDF]
This paper presents selected cases of inapplicability of theory based methods of determining critical loads in thin – walled, composite tubes. 8th layered composite tubes with square cross-section were being subjected to static compression and in order ...

Modal nudging in nonlinear elasticity: tailoring the elastic post-buckling behaviour of engineering structures [PDF]
The buckling and post-buckling behaviour of slender structures is increasingly being harnessed for smart functionalities. Equally, the post-buckling regime of many traditional engineering structures is not being used for design and may therefore harbour ...
