Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Post Hoc Analysis of Life Expectancy in West Africa
This paper investigates the effect of country, gender and the associated interaction term on life expectancy in West African countries. The empirical analysis revealed that country and gender have statistically significant effect on life expectancy in West Africa, while the associated interaction term has no significant effect on life expectancy.

Improved post hoc flow analysis via Lagrangian representations [PDF]
Fluid mechanics considers two frames of reference for an observer watching a flow field: Eulerian and Lagrangian. The former is the frame of reference traditionally used for flow analysis, and involves extracting particle trajectories based on a vector field.

The mitosis‐related gene SKA1 was among 629 genes consistently dysregulated in OSCC across nine public gene expression datasets. In OSCC cell lines, SKA1 promoted proliferation and migration, enhanced radioresistance, and reduced radiation‐induced senescence.

Per-Treatment Post Hoc Analysis of Clinical Trial Outcomes With Tolvaptan in ADPKD
Introduction: In pivotal trials of patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease at risk of rapid progression, tolvaptan slowed estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline in early-to-moderate (TEMPO 3:4 [NCT00428948]) and moderate ...

Importance Both military and civilian clinical practice guidelines include early plasma transfusion to achieve a plasma to red cell ratio approaching 1:1 to 1:2. However, it was not known how early plasma should be given for optimal benefit.

KMT2A degradation is observed in decitabine‐responsive acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells
We demonstrate that decitabine (DEC) not only degrades the DNA methyltransferase DNMT1 but also the leukemic driver lysine methyltransferase KMT2A likely due to structural similarity of the DNA‐binding CXXC domains. DEC influences KMT2A downstream processes and synergizes with menin inhibitor revumenib (REV) to decrease leukemic cell proliferation, and
