Post-activation potentiation: Honors thesis
Heavy resistance exercise may induce post-activation potentiation (PAP), enhancing performance of a subsequent biomechanically similar movement. Performance is enhanced when potentiation is greater than fatigue.

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

A genome‐wide microRNA CRISPR screen identifies miR‐18a as a master regulator of cross‐resistance in melanoma. Loss of miR‐18a activates the AJUBA–YAP/Hippo axis to confer BRAFi resistance and enhances THBS1–CD47 interaction to impair CD8+ T cell immunity. hnRNP A1 is identified as an upstream regulator of miR‐18a processing.

Post-Activation Potentiation and Potentiated Motor Unit Activation Patterns in Boys and Men
Post-activation potentiation (PAP) describes the enhancement of twitch torque following a conditioning contraction in skeletal muscle. In adults, PAP is greater in muscles with a higher percentage of type-II fibres and PAP-related augmented contractility

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Does high intensity squatting elicit post activation potentiation in the squat?
The phenomenon post activation potentiation (PAP) can be defined as an increase in muscle performance following a heavy contraction of a movement that utilizes the same muscle group (i.e. improved 20m sprint following a high intensity squat).
