La connectivité de l’espace méditerranéen sur l’affiche publicitaire, l’imaginaire de la mer, l’imaginaire des plages

open access: yesBabel: Littératures Plurielles
The aim of this article is to study the convergences and divergences in the use of the image of the Mediterranean Sea as motif in poster advertising, and the changing perceptions of the sea according to the countries and regions bordering the ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Considérations sur l’évolution de l’affiche communiste vers la standardisation [PDF]

open access: yesCodrul Cosminului, 2010
Using poster to spread Marxist-Leninist ideology, but also to popularize “grand achievements of the popular regime” represented only one aspect of the phenomenon of propaganda in our country. For Romania's postwar history the poster is a genuine document,

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

POSTERS AND CONCEPTUAL MAPS AS RESOURCES FOR TEACHING SCIENCES / PÓSTERS Y MAPAS CONCEPTUALES COMO RECURSOS PARA LA ENSEÑANZA DE LAS CIENCIAS

open access: yesDidasc@lia: didáctica y educación, 2010
The posters and conceptual maps constitute resources used in different ways in teaching and didactic investigation: in the diagnosis to reveal previous ideas or for contrasting the obtained results by different groups of students.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
