Weaning of Senegalese sole (Solea senegalensis) postlarvae to an inert diet with a co-feeding regime
The objective of this study was to evaluate the weaning success of Senegalese sole, Solea senegalensis, postlarvae when cofed a compound diet, by means of the analysis of growth parameters (relative growth rate [RGR] and condition factor [K]), survival ...

Distribution and transport of a prawn Penaeus japonica postlarvae.
This paper describes the vertical and horizontal distributions and transport from offshore to coastal area of a prawn Penaeus japonicus, postlarvae collected in Kumihama Bay and its adjacent area from April to October, 1984. The postlarvae distributed abundantly in surface waters shallower than 10m depth and coastal area compared with offshore area in ...

Growth And Survival Of Penaeus Merguiensis Postlarvae At Different Salinities [PDF]
The growth and survival of postlarval Penaeus merguiensis were examined to optimize condi- tions and improve farm production. Postlarvae were subjected to one of four salinities (5-35 ppt) for a period of 28 days. Results indicated maximum survival at 25 ppt while the best growth rate was obtained at 15 ppt.

Lethality of Pyrethrins to Larvae and Postlarvae of the American Lobster (Homarus americanus)
Pesticide formulations containing pyrethrins are being used to treat salmonids for infestations of the copepod parasites Lepeophtherius salmonis and Caligus elongatus (sea lice). The acute lethality of one such formulation to four larval stages of the American lobster (Homarus americanus), a species of significant economic importance in eastern Canada,

The recent markedly reduced recruitment success (recruitment per spawner stock biomass) of Northeast Arctic cod (Gadus morhua, Gadidae) is seemingly largely attributed to the joint negative effect of increased temperature and cannibalism but also predation on the postlarvae by Northeast Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus, Scombridae).

eDNA monitoring revealed that hatcheries are major reservoirs of prawn pathogens, with significantly higher loads and co‐infection rates than natural waters; routine eDNA surveillance and enhanced biosecurity are essential for early outbreak detection and sustainable Macrobrachium rosenbergii aquaculture.
