Optimization of Postoperative Analgesia in Patients with Nontoxic Goiter

open access: yesОбщая реаниматология, 2008
Objective: to comparatively evaluate the analgesic activity and hemostatic effects of two nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) that are most commonly used for postoperative analgesia — ketorolac and ketoprofen in patients operated on for diffuse ...

Epidural Ketamine for Postoperative Analgesia [PDF]

open access: yesSurvey of Anesthesiology, 1986
Thirty-four patients of ASA physical status I or II scheduled for gall bladder surgery were studied in a comparative prospective trial to evaluate the efficacy of epidural and intramuscular ketamine for postoperative pain relief. They were divided randomly into three groups. Group I (11 patients) received 30 mg intramuscular ketamine.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with postoperative inadequate analgesia after single-port VATS in Chinese population

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2020
Background Postoperative inadequate analgesia following video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is a common and significant clinical problem. While genetic polymorphisms may play role in the variability of postoperative analgesia effect, few studies ...

Effects of dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to ropivacaine or ropivacaine alone on duration of postoperative analgesia: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
BackgroundRopivacaine is a long-acting local anesthetic that is used to treat postoperative pain. Adjuvant use of dexmedetomidine in regional anesthesia may prolong the duration of analgesia.

Comparing the Anaesthetic and Analgesic Efficacy of Caudal Levobupivacaine and Ropivacaine in Paediatric Patients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2018
Introduction: Introduction of S enantiomer of bupivacaine is a major breakthrough in the history of local anaesthesia as the pharmacodynamics of these drugs were favourable in reducing the occurrence of cardiotoxicity, neurotoxicity and unintended motor ...

POSTOPERATIVE ANALGESIA WITH DUROMORPH

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1985
The analgesic effects and bioavailability of a slow-release preparation of morphine (Duromorph) were studied in 12 patients with acute postoperative pain. Duromorph produced significant analgesia within 1-2 h of administration i.m., and there was a progressive decrease in the mean pain score for at least 8 h.

Pre-emptive multimodal analgesic bundle with transversus abdominis plane block enhances early recovery after laparoscopic cholecystectomy

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2022

Long-lasting postoperative analgesia with local anesthetic-loaded hydrogels prevent tumor recurrence via enhancing CD8+T cell infiltration

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology, 2023
Postoperative pain (POP) can promote tumor recurrence and reduce the cancer patient's quality of life. However, POP management has always been separated from tumor treatment in clinical practice, and traditional postoperative analgesia using opioids is ...

Thoracic epidural analgesia prolongs postoperative QT interval on electrocardiogram in major non-cardiac surgery: a randomized comparison and a prospective cohort analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2023
Introduction: Prolongation of QT interval on electrocardiogram can be associated with perioperative lethal arrhythmia. Epidural analgesia is a commonly used modality to relieve surgical pain by blocking sensory nerves, which also blocks the autonomic ...
