Potassium ion transport in potassium ferrocyanide tri-hydrate

Solid State Ionics, 1984
Abstract K4Fe(CN)6 ⋯ 3H2O is found to be a K+ ion conductor. It is suggested that K+ mobility originates from formation of hydrogen bonded aggregates of H2O molecules in the vicinity of K+ ions.

The catalytic determination of mercury with potassium ferrocyanide and nitrosobenzene

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1958
Abstract Mercury can be determined in quantities of about 1 μg by catalytic effects on the decomposition of K 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ]. The reaction product formed in a given period is measured colorimetrically at 5280 A after addition of nitrosobenzene. There appears to be a linear relation between the extinction and the logarithm of the mercury concentration.

Potassium ferrocyanide as an analytical reagent for the determination of rhenium

Proceedings / Indian Academy of Sciences, 1987
In hydrochloric acid medium, rhenium is reduced to a lower valence using stannous chloride as a reductant. The reduced species of the metal ion forms a stable violet coloured complex with potassium ferrocyanide on heating, which can be quantitatively extracted into isoamyl alcohol and its absorbance measured. The method is free from the interference of

Vibrational spectra of crystalline potassium ferri- and ferrocyanide

Journal of Applied Spectroscopy, 1965
The IR spectra of the crystalline salts K3[Fe(CN)6] (I) and K4[Fe(CN)6] (II) have been studied in the 1600–5000 cm−1 range for the purpose of investigating the spectral difference in the valence states of the central atoms of the complex anions. The appearance of the doublet structure of thev6 band in the spectrum of salt II is due to distortion of its
