Crystal structure of the Gramicidin/Potassium thiocyanate complex
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1997The hydrophobic channel-forming polypeptide gramicidin adopts a left-handed antiparallel double helix conformation with 6.4 residues per turn when in complex with monovalent cation salts in a methanol environment. The crystal structure of the gramicidin/potassium thiocyanate complex (a = 32.06 A, b = 51.80 A, and c = 31.04 A; space group P2(1)2(1)2(1))

POTASSIUM THIOCYANATE TREATMENT OF HYPERTENSION
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1942To the Editor:— In the article on fatal poisoning from potassium thiocyanate treatment of hypertension (Russell, W. O., and Stahl, W. C.:The Journal, August 8, p. 1177) certain statements are made which are contrary to our conception of the method of control of thiocyanate medication.

Determination of thiocyanate by potassium bromate
Fresenius' Zeitschrift fr Analytische Chemie, 1957Estimation of thiocyanate, based on its titration with standard KBrO3 solution in presence of 1.5–3.0 N hydrochloric acid, is described. The end point is determined either potentiometrically or with methyl orange as indicator.

Ionic conductivity of crystalline potassium thiocyanate
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1971Studies have been made of the a.c. electrical conductivity of single crystals of potassium thiocyanate in various states of purity between 446 K and room temperature. For all samples there was a marked change in the conductivity on passing through the 'phase' transition at 414 K. The position of this break was independent of the purity of the specimens.
