Phonon dispersion relations for potassium thiocyanate
Solid State Communications, 1987Abstract Measurements of some low frequency phonon dispersion curves in potassium thiocyanate have been made using inelastic neutron scattering techniques. The measured phonon frequencies are presented along with ones calculated from a simple model comprising axially-symmetric force constants between nearest neighbour atoms. The applicability of such

Reaction of perfluoroisobutylene with potassium thiocyanate
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1969The authors obtained perfluoroisobutenyl isothiocyanate by reacting perfluoroisobutylene with potassium thiocyanate, and studied some of its properties.

Lattice vibrational modes in potassium thiocyanate
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1981Abstract Calculations on long-wavelength lattice vibrations have been made for cystallline KNCS within the framework of the rigid ion model. The short range force constants and effective charges of the ions have been determined from the observed frequencies.

Ionic conductivity of crystalline potassium thiocyanate
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1971Studies have been made of the a.c. electrical conductivity of single crystals of potassium thiocyanate in various states of purity between 446 K and room temperature. For all samples there was a marked change in the conductivity on passing through the 'phase' transition at 414 K. The position of this break was independent of the purity of the specimens.

POTASSIUM THIOCYANATE TREATMENT OF HYPERTENSION
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1942To the Editor:— In the article on fatal poisoning from potassium thiocyanate treatment of hypertension (Russell, W. O., and Stahl, W. C.:The Journal, August 8, p. 1177) certain statements are made which are contrary to our conception of the method of control of thiocyanate medication.

Crystal structure of the Gramicidin/Potassium thiocyanate complex
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1997The hydrophobic channel-forming polypeptide gramicidin adopts a left-handed antiparallel double helix conformation with 6.4 residues per turn when in complex with monovalent cation salts in a methanol environment. The crystal structure of the gramicidin/potassium thiocyanate complex (a = 32.06 A, b = 51.80 A, and c = 31.04 A; space group P2(1)2(1)2(1))
