Treatment of potato tubers to destroy cysts of potato cyst nematode: A note [PDF]
Abstract Potato cyst nematode is “undoubtedly the most serious plant nematode pest of temperate regions” (Southey 1965). Both species, Heterodera rostochiensis Woll. and H. pallida Stone, damage the potato crop and are extremely persistent in the soil. The resistant cyst wall makes encysted eggs and juveniles very difficult to kill.

Managing populations of cyst-forming nematodes in agroecosystems of field crops
Cyst-forming nematodes have been known since the second half of the 19th century as one of the causes of "soil fatigue" and highly harmful agricultural pests.

Plant resistance to nematodes is related to the ability of the host to reduce the development of nematode juveniles into females. Resistance to the potato cyst nematode (PCN) Globodera pallida, originating from the wild species Solanum sparsipilum, was ...

Morphology and DNA sequence data reveal the presence of Globodera ellingtonae in the Andean region [PDF]
Potato cyst nematodes, G. rostochiensis and G. pallida, are the most economically important nematode pests of potatoes worldwide and are subject to strict quarantine regulations in many countries. Globodera ellingtonae was recently described from Oregon (

Comprehensive understanding of how diverse PGPR strains enhance the rhizosphere microenvironment remains a considerable challenge. Here, we provide experimental evidence that a functionally synergistic composite microbial formulation can markedly enhance growth performance and improve the quality attributes in Angelica sinensis.

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Plant parasitic nematodes - problems related to clover and organic farming [PDF]
Organic farming puts new and exciting challenges to the science of nematology. The occurrence of plant parasitic nematodes in organic farming systems needs to be investigated further.

INTEGRATED POTATO PROTECTION SYSTEM FROM GOLDEN POTATO CYST NEMATODES
An integrated system for protecting potatoes from a golden potato cyst nematode has been developed, adapted for use in agricultural farms of various forms of ownership and includes a number of protective measures: the imposition of quarantine, a differentiated choice of unaffected crops (in collective and farm enterprises: lupine, winter wheat, sugar ...

Solanoeclepin B, a hatching factor for potato cyst nematode
The potato cyst nematode (PCN) causes extensive crop losses worldwide. Because the hatching of PCN requires host-derived molecules known as hatching factors (HFs), regulating HF production in host plants may help to control this harmful pest. Solanoeclepin A (SEA), isolated from potato, is the most active HF for PCN; however, its biosynthesis is ...
