A slender-wing theory in potential flow
Consider uniform, steady potential flow past a slender wing. By considering a horseshoe vortex in the limit as γ/Us → ∞, where γ is the circulation, U is the uniform stream velocity and s is the span, a model representing a vortex sheet is obtained from ...

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Flow under Sluice Gates [PDF]
The flow characteristics upstream and downstream of sluice gates are studied experimentally and numerically using Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes two-dimensional simulations with a volume of fluid method.

Vortex Structure and Kinematics of Encased Axial Turbomachines
This paper models the kinematics of the vortex system of an encased axial turbomachine at part load and overload applying analytical methods. Thus far, the influence of the casing and the tip clearance on the kinematics have been solved separately.

Unsteady Lift Prediction with a Higher-Order Potential Flow Method
An unsteady formulation of the Kutta–Joukowski theorem has been used with a higher-order potential flow method for the prediction of three-dimensional unsteady lift.

Renormalization group flow of the Higgs potential [PDF]
We summarize results for local and global properties of the effective potential for the Higgs boson obtained from the functional renormalization group, which allows one to describe the effective potential as a function of both scalar field amplitude and renormalization group scale.

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Numerical Analysis for Hydrodynamic Performance of OWC Devices with Multiple Chambers in Waves
In recent years, various studies have been conducted on oscillating-water-column-type wave energy converters (OWC-WECs) with multiple chambers with the objective of efficiently utilizing the limited space of offshore/onshore structures.

Renormalization-group flow of the dilaton potential [PDF]
We consider a scalar-metric gauge theory of gravity with independent metric, connection and dilaton. The role of the dilaton is to provide the scale of all masses, via its vacuum expectation value. In this theory, we study the renormalization group flow of the dilaton potential, taking into account threshold effects at the Planck scale.
