Points of Zero Charge and Potentiometric Titrations

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2003
Based on the various categories of surface charge and the definitions of points of zero charge proposed by Sposito (1984, 1998), the determination of the adsorbed proton charge (σ H ) and the point of zero net charge (PZNPC) of insoluble oxides and layer

Gibbs energy minimization thermodynamics for CO2 capture by aqueous amines: Conservation laws, concentration variables, and parameter consistency

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
We clarify how Gibbs‐energy‐minimization models for aqueous‐amine CO2 capture fail when conservation constraints and concentration conventions are inconsistent. Exact standard‐state conversions and Reaktoro case studies show that P(CO2)‐loading fits can mask non‐unique parameters and wrong speciation, motivating complete water‐inclusive formulations ...

Potentiometric Titration Based on the Reference Electrode Equipped with Ionic Liquid Salt Bridge — 1. Precipitation Titration of Chloride with Silver Ions in Water

open access: yesElectrochemistry, 2023
A reference electrode equipped with ionic liquid salt bridge consisting of tributyl(2-methoxyethyl)phosphonium bis(pentafluoroethanesulfonyl)amide has been employed for potentiometric precipitation titration of chloride with silver ions in water at 25 °C.

Parental Exposure to Nanoplastics and Graphene Oxide Induces Transgenerational Toxicity in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental pollution by emerging contaminants such as nanoplastics (NPs) and graphene oxide (GO) represents a growing threat to global health and ecosystems. This study investigated the effects of parental exposure, both isolated and combined, to 100 μg/L NPs (polystyrene, spherical, 100 nm) and 100 mg/L GO, using Caenorhabditis elegans as ...

Phenotypic, physicochemical, sensory, and functional attributes of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) from Brazilian Amazonian floodplain and upland ecosystems

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) from the Brazilian Amazon plays an important role in national production. While most cocoa is cultivated in upland systems, floodplain ecosystems represent a traditional and distinct production environment that may influence bean composition and quality.

Application of Automatic Potentiometric Titrator in Continuous Titration of Six Indices in Groundwater

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2018
BACKGROUND The analysis of six indices (pH, total alkalinity, chloride ion, calcium ion, magnesium ion and sulfate radical) in underground water needed to be sampled separately for each index. The steps were tedious with low efficiency.

The titrating conditions in the potentiometric titration of zinc

open access: yesBUNSEKI KAGAKU, 1964

Underground Lag: Fungal Community and Edaphic Legacies After Disturbance

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Páramos are neotropical mountain ecosystems that regulate water and store large amounts of carbon, but are increasingly degraded by agriculture and grazing. Although native vegetation often recolonizes after abandonment, belowground recovery remains poorly understood.
