Temperature, but not acidification, influences the growth and lipid profile of juvenile sand whiting, Sillago ciliata (Cuvier 1829)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Seafood provides an essential source of macro‐ and micronutrients for coastal communities worldwide. Climate change is a key threat to seafood security, altering the sizes, abundances, distributions, physiology and ecological interactions of fisheries species, and increasingly, there is evidence of impacts to seafood nutritional quality.

Potentiometric Titration of Polyelectrolytes

open access: yesKobunshi Kagaku, 1958

Effect of Two Therapeutic Renal Diets on Hormonal and Regulatory Pathways Affecting Calcium Homeostasis in Cats With Early‐Stage Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a known risk factor for hypercalcemia in cats. Phosphate‐restricted diets have also been implicated in causing hypercalcemia, in part because phosphate restriction increases the Ca:P ratio. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of two different therapeutic renal foods on ionized (iCa ...

Linking Palm Oil Quality Evolution During Frying to the Shelf‐Life of Low‐Temperature Vacuum‐Fried Whole Okra Crisps

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
This work establishes a direct link between the degradation of palm oil over repeated frying cycles and the subsequent shelf‐life of vacuum‐fried okra crisps. Controlling the number of frying cycles is identified as a critical point for ensuring long‐term product stability and quality. ABSTRACT The quality of frying oil is a critical determinant of the

A Chirality‐Converted Bacteriolytic Dodecapeptide Regulates Vibrio‐Induced Polymicrobial Infection and Ameliorates Invasion‐Associated Gut Microbiota Disequilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 38, 9 July 2026.
Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...

Characterization of Co(II)-PAMAM dendrimer complexes with polypropylene oxide core by using UV-VIS spectroscopy

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2016
The aim of this study was to characterize poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer complexes of Co(II) ions by using UV-Vis spectroscopy. For this aim, a generation-4 polypropylene oxide (Jeffamine® T-403) cored and amine-terminated PAMAM dendrimer (P4) was ...

A New Method for Exploring the Early Stages of the Crystallization of Small Organic Carboxylic Acids at Constant pH and Temperature and Quantitatively Assessing Additive Effects

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
We introduce a titration‐based method to explore the early stages of the crystallization of small organic molecules with carboxylic acid functions in water. It enables the determination of fundamental physicochemical characteristics (pKa values and solubilities) and the quantitative study of prenucleation, nucleation, and early postnucleation stages ...
