Dietary Mannan‐Rich Fractions Attenuate Weaning Stress in Piglets via Modulating Gut Microbiota and TLR5/NF‐κB Signaling

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study aimed to investigate the potential of a mannan‐rich fraction (MRF) as a dietary intervention to alleviate weaning stress in piglets. Our results revealed that MRF could alleviate weaning stress by modulating the gut microbiota and the TLR5/NF‐κB signaling pathway, offering a novel and sustainable alternative to antibiotic use in swine ...

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Water Quality and Poultry Production

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1996
Mineral and microbial content of water affects the performance of poultry. Because poultry production can adversely affect water quality, the Environmental Protection Agency monitors and regulates its impact. Management of nonpoint source water contamination is especially important. If properly managed, litter, a valuable secondary commodity associated

The Role of miRNAs in Chicken Immune Regulation and Prospects for Disease‐Resistant Breeding

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
A schematic workflow illustrating the screening of disease‐resistant miRNAs and the generation of miRNA‐based disease‐resistant chickens via PGC‐mediated germline genome editing. ABSTRACT MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are emerging as pivotal regulators of the immune system, playing a decisive role in shaping disease resistance in chicken.
