Solid H2 in the interstellar medium

open access: yes, 2018
Condensation of H 2 in the interstellar medium (ISM) has long been seen as a possibility, either by deposition on dust grains or thanks to a phase transition combined with self-gravity.

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Numerical Study of Non-Newtonian Flow Through Rectangular Microchannels [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2009
A numerical investigation was carried out to solve the flow dimensionless partial differential equations through rectangular microchannels. A purely viscous power law model was used to characterize the flow behavior of non-Newtonian fluids.

Sustainable Synthesis of Bio‐Based Magnetic and Conductive Wood for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Simplified Pressure Drop Model for Laminar Helical Flow of Power Law Fluid

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
The theoretical models for predicting the pressure drop of the laminar helical flow of power-law fluids require tedious and complicated numerical calculations, which are difficult to directly apply to the field.

Characterizing binary droplet collisions of power‐law fluids

open access: yesAIChE Journal
AbstractThis study focuses on the dynamics of two equal‐sized droplets of non‐Newtonian liquids with simulations using the volume of fluid method and the local front reconstruction method. The non‐Newtonian behavior is implement via a power‐law model. The droplet interactions are performed for Weber numbers ranging from 20 to 300 and impact parameters ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

A parametric study to simulate the non‐Newtonian turbulent flow in spiral tubes

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2020
Non‐Newtonian fluids are considered to those types of fluids that do not follow Newton's law of viscosity where viscosity would change in either more solid or liquid.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
