Perfect powers among Fibonomial coefficients

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2010
Let Fn be the nth Fibonacci number. For 1⩽k⩽m, let[mk]F=FmFm−1⋯Fm−k+1F1⋯Fk be the corresponding Fibonomial coefficient. In 2003, the problem of determining the perfect powers in the Fibonacci sequence was completely solved. In fact, the only solutions of Fm=yt, with m>2, are (m,y,t)=(6,2,3), (12,12,2). In this paper, we prove that the only solutions

The Coefficients of Powers of Bazilević Functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
In the present work, a sharp bound on the modulus of the initial coefficients for powers of strongly Bazilević functions is obtained. As an application of these results, certain conditions are investigated under which the Littlewood-Paley conjecture holds for strongly Bazilević functions for large values of the parameters involved therein.

An Exploration of Wind Energy

open access: yesUndergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two, 2020
Wind energy is renewable energy extrapolated from the wind that has the potential to revolutionize our power supply in the near future as fossil fuels become outdated.

Frequency stabilization of a monolithic Nd:YAG ring laser by controlling the power of the laser-diode pump source [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The frequency of a 700mW monolithic non-planar Nd:YAG ring laser (NPRO) depends with a large coupling coefficient (some MHz/mW) on the power of its laser-diode pump source.

On the coefficients of symmetric power L-functions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Number Theory, 2018
We study the signs of the Fourier coefficients of a newform. Let [Formula: see text] be a normalized newform of weight [Formula: see text] for [Formula: see text]. Let [Formula: see text] be the [Formula: see text]th Fourier coefficient of [Formula: see text].

Computing the diffusion coefficient for intermittent maps: Resummation of stability ordered cycle expansions

open access: yes, 1997
We compute the diffusion coefficient and the Lyapunov exponent for a diffusive intermittent map by means of cycle expansion of dynamical zeta functions.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Numerical Study on Aerodynamic Characteristics of H-Darrieus Wind Turbine with Blunt Trailing-edge Airfoil [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
The present study numerically examines the aerodynamic performance of an H-type vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) utilizing airfoils with blunt trailing edges (BTE).

Study on the Pitch Angle Effect on the Power Coefficient and Blade Fatigue Load of a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
For vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs), the increase of the incoming wind speed higher than the rated value will make the tip speed ratio (TSR) lower and lower, resulting in the blade fatigue load becoming more and more severe and the power coefficient ...

Fourier coefficients of symmetric power L-functions

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 2016
Let f be a Hecke eigencusp form of even integral weight k or Maass cusp form for the full modular group SL 2 (Z). Denote by λ sym m f (n) the nth normalized coefficient of the Dirichlet expansion of the mth symmetric power L-function associated to f.
