Scalable and Energy-Efficient Millimeter Massive MIMO Architectures: Reflect-Array and Transmit-Array Antennas

open access: yes, 2018
Hybrid analog-digital architectures are considered as promising candidates for implementing millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems since they enable a considerable reduction of the required number of costly radio ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Design of 3D stacked wideband Wilkinson power divider based on rectangular micro‐coaxial process

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
Based on transmission line theory, a 4‐way wideband coupled‐line Wilkinson power divider is designed by the authors, operating from 6 to 18 GHz. It is established by using a novel manufacturing technology with 3D stacked micro‐coaxial line, realising ...

A phase-locked frequency divide-by-3 optical parametric oscillator

open access: yes, 2000
Accurate phase-locked 3:1 division of an optical frequency was achieved, by using a continuous-wave (cw) doubly resonant optical parametric oscillator.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The Design and Characterization of a Prototype Wideband Voltage Sensor Based on a Resistive Divider

open access: yesSensors, 2017
The most important advantage of voltage dividers over traditional voltage transformers is that voltage dividers do not have an iron core with non-linear hysteresis characteristics. The voltage dividers have a linear behavior with respect to over-voltages

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Microstrip multifunctional reconfigurable wideband filtering power divider with tunable centre frequency, bandwidth, and power division ratio based on three‐parallel‐coupled line section

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2023
A compact microstrip multifunctional reconfigurable filtering power divider (FPD) is proposed based on varactor‐loaded three‐parallel‐coupled line section (TLCS) in this letter.

Ka-band feed arrays for spacecraft reflector antennas with limited scan capability: An overview [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
JPL and NASA are in the process of developing ground and spacecraft antenna systems at Ka-band frequencies for future deep space applications. The use of Ka-band (32-GHz down) communication will result in smaller ground and spacecraft antennas and ...

Stability analysis of the self-phase-locked divide-by-2 optical parametric oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The properties of all-optical phase-coherent frequency division by 2, based on a self-phase-locked continuous-wave (cw) optical parametric oscillator (OPO), are investigated theoretically.
