Temperature analysis and comparison of active power losses in non-stationary and stationary thermal conditions of overhead power lines

open access: yesОмский научный вестник, 2023
The article considers the temperature distribution with increased currents in the non-stationary thermal regime of overhead power lines. The temperature distribution along the length of the line for wires of AC-240/32 and G(Z)TACSR 240 grades is ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Reactive Power Optimization with Chaotic Firefly Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization in A Distribution Subsystem Network [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2016
In this paper the minimization of power losses in a real distribution network have been described by solving reactive power optimization problem. The optimization has been performed and tested on Konya Eregli Distribution Network in Turkey, a section ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Electrical model for power losses in direct power injection

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology, 2007
This paper introduces a study of power losses in a populated board under direct power injection (DPI), used to measure the immunity of integrated circuits to conducted continuous-wave interference. The relative contributions of all loss sources are evaluated, leading to the preeminence of conductive and dielectric losses over radiated ones, and an ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Comprehensive Power Losses Model for Electronic Power Transformer

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The electronic power transformer (EPT) has higher power losses than the conventional transformer. However, the EPT can correct the power factor, compensate the unbalanced current, and reduce the line power losses in the distribution network. Therefore, the higher power losses of the EPT and the consequent reduced power losses in the distribution ...
