Power system instability prediction from the solution pattern of differential Riccati equations

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
Power system stability characteristics are typically evaluated in terms of small‐ and large‐signal (transient) stability. Access to the time‐varying A‐matrix of a state‐space‐based power systems model during transient conditions can be utilized to apply ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Perbaikan Stabilitas Dinamik Melalui Penjadwalan Ulang Pembangkit Menggunakan Sensitivitas Trayektori [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The optimum operation condition of power system obtained from optimal calculation is determined without considering its dynamic stability limit. If the load of system is changed, power generating should accommodate the changes to make the demand of load ...

Solving the Jitter Problem in Microwave Compressed Ultrafast Electron Diffraction Instruments: Robust Sub-50 fs Cavity-Laser Phase Stabilization

open access: yes, 2017
We demonstrate the compression of electron pulses in a high-brightness ultrafast electron diffraction (UED) instrument using phase-locked microwave signals directly generated from a mode-locked femtosecond oscillator.

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Comprehensive Dynamic Interaction Studies in Inverter-Penetrated Power Systems

open access: yesEnergies
In a renewable-energy-penetrated power system (RPPS), inverter-based resources (IBRs) pose serious challenges to power system stability due to their completely different dynamic characteristics compared with conventional generators; thus, it is necessary

Performance Evaluation of Fuel Cell and Microturbine as Distributed Generators in a Microgrid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents dynamic models of distributed generators (DG) and investigates dynamic behaviour of the DG units within a microgrid system. The DG units include micro turbine, fuel cell and the electronically interfaced sources.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...
