Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Arcing High Impedance Fault Detection Using Real Coded Genetic Algorithm

open access: yes, 2007
Safety and reliability are two of the most important aspects of electric power supply systems. Sensitivity and robustness to detect and isolate faults can influence the safety and reliability of such systems.

Detection and Classification of Transmission Line Faults Using Stockwell Transform and Rule Based Decision Tree

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents an algorithm for detection and classification of different types of the power system faults occurring on the transmission line to provide the effective protection to the line against these faults. The proposed technique uses Stockwell

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Observer-based Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Mechanical Transmission Systems with Sensorless Variable Speed Drives

open access: yes, 2015
Observer based approaches are commonly embedded in sensorless variable speed drives for the purpose of speed control. It estimates system variables to produce errors or residual signals in conjunction with corresponding measurements. The residual signals

A π-Phase-Shifted Fiber Bragg Grating Partial Discharge Sensor toward Power Transformers

open access: yes, 2022
Partial discharge (PD) ultrasonic detection is an early sign of the insolation defects of power transformers. The early diagnosis of PD requires the high sensitivity and reliability of ultrasonic sensing systems.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Ground fault protection algorithm of active distribution network based on energy extremum direction

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
After large‐scale distributed power sources are connected to the distribution network, the fault current undergoes noticeable changes, affecting the accuracy of traditional single‐phase grounding fault algorithms.

Effects of Direct-Quadrature Rotor Current Sensors’ Faults in Wind Energy Conversion System based on Doubly Fed Induction Generator

open access: yesElectrica
This paper investigates the dynamic performance of a grid-connected wind energy conversion system (WECS) based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in the presence of additive and multiplicative faults in directquadrature rotor current sensors ...
