A Transformer Maintenance Interval Optimization Method Considering Imperfect Maintenance and Dynamic Maintenance Costs

open access: yesApplied Sciences
As one of the most critical components of the power grid system, transformer maintenance strategy planning significantly influences the safe, economical, and sustainable operation of the power system. Periodic imperfect maintenance strategies have become

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Power system reliability evaluation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 1979
Abstract A review is provided of indices and methods for evaluating power system reliability performance using probability theory. Particular emphasis is placed on development since about 1960, when a stochastic process view of power systems was used for reliability evaluation.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

A Non-Intrusive Thermal Fault Inversion Method for GIS Using a POD-Kriging Surrogate Model and the Grey Wolf Optimizer

open access: yesEnergies
To address the inverse identification of contact-related thermal faults in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), this study proposes a method for contact resistance inversion and internal temperature field reconstruction.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
