Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An optimizated additional damping control for suppressing ultra‐low frequency oscillation suppression based on SVC

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
The ultra‐low frequency oscillation (ULFO) imposes an emerging stability challenge to the high proportion of hydropower grids. To suppress ULFO without reducing the primary frequency regulation of the hydro governor, a novel idea to exploit the voltage ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Virtual inertia calculation and virtual power system stabiliser design for stability enhancement of virtual synchronous generator system under transient condition

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration
Enhancing the stability of the Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) under transient conditions has become a new challenge for VSG operation. This paper presents the design of a Virtual Power System Stabiliser (VPSS) with virtual inertia calculations for ...

Application of fuzzy logic to power system stabilizer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Power systems stability is a complex problem which was first recognised in 1920 and has been widely investigated by power system engineers ever since.

Stability and Control of Power Systems using Vector Lyapunov Functions and Sum-of-Squares Methods

open access: yes, 2015
Recently sum-of-squares (SOS) based methods have been used for the stability analysis and control synthesis of polynomial dynamical systems. This analysis framework was also extended to non-polynomial dynamical systems, including power systems, using an ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An operation site security detection method based on point cloud data and improved YOLO algorithm under the architecture of the power internet of things

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
An operation site safety detection method based on point cloud data and improved YOLO algorithm under the power Internet of Things architecture is proposed to address the complex environment of power construction sites and the poor effectiveness of most ...

Voltage instability analysis on the Sabah grid system: a case study my [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
With the development of the power system, voltage stability has become a major concern in planning and operating electric power system. The blackout problem has been associated with not only transient stability but also voltage stability.

Estimation of Power System Inertia Using Nonlinear Koopman Modes

open access: yes, 2018
We report a new approach to estimating power system inertia directly from time-series data on power system dynamics. The approach is based on the so-called Koopman Mode Decomposition (KMD) of such dynamic data, which is a nonlinear generalization of ...
