A new AHP – based reactive power valuation method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In Malaysia, the electricity tariff is based on the active energy consumed and does not include any reactive (energy) power required. In order to recover the extra cost incurred in supplying the reactive power required by the consumers, the utility

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Power System Voltage Stability [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1982
Power system voltage stability is characterized as being capable of maintaining load voltage magnitudes within specified operating limits under steady state conditions. In this paper, the first order delay model of a load admittance change is introduced.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Power System Controlled Islanding Using Directed Motif‐Based Spectral Clustering: A Novel Complex Network Perspective

open access: yesIET Smart Grid
Intentional Controlled Islanding (ICI) is a wide‐area self‐healing strategy to prevent power system blackouts. Recent studies integrate ICI within a complex network framework using community detection techniques, thus addressing the complex nature of ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Dynamic reactive power reserve assessment method for hybrid AC/DC networks based on a reduced equivalent model of an LCC‐HVDC converter process

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
LCC‐HVDC technology has been widely applied. Commutation failure is a common disturbance in converter stations. In the absence of an adequate and rapid dynamic reactive power supply, the system is prone to trigger DC blocking.

Determining the Load Inertia Contribution from Different Power Consumer Groups

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Power system inertia is a vital part of power system stability. The inertia response within the first seconds after a power imbalance reduces the velocity of which the grid frequency changes.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
