Determination of Operating Characteristics of 540 and 540E PTO Applications in Disc Type Silage Machines

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2020
In this study, performance characteristics such as power take off (PTO) power consumption, fuel consumption, fuel consumption for the unit field-unit product were determined at different working speeds with two different PTO applications (540 and 540E ...

The calculated effect of trailing-edge flaps on the take-off of flying boats [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of take-off calculations are given for an application of simple trailing-edge flaps to two hypothetical flying boats, one having medium wing and power loading and consequently considerable excess of thrust over total resistance during the ...

PTO performance and NOx emissions with D2, B20, and B100 fuels in a John Deere 3203 compact tractor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Tests were conducted in fall 2006 on a John Deere 3203 diesel tractor to determine differences in specific fuel consumption, power take-off (PTO) torque, PTO power, thermal efficiency, and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions between No. 2 diesel (D2), 20%

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Calculated effect of various types of flap on take-off over obstacles [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to determine whether or not flaps could be expected to have any beneficial effect on take-off performance, the distances required to take off and climb to an altitude of 50 feet were calculated for hypothetical airplanes, corresponding to ...

Performance Improvement of Variable Speed Rotors by Gurney Flaps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Gurney flaps are used for improving the performance of variable speed rotors. An analytical model able to predict helicopter rotor power is first presented, and the flight data of the UH-60A helicopter is used for validation. The predictions of the rotor

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Discrete Displacement Hydraulic Power Take-Off System for the Wavestar Wave Energy Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
The Wavestar Wave Energy Converter (WEC) is a multiple absorber concept, consisting of 20 hemisphere shaped floats attached to a single platform. The heart of the Wavestar WEC is the Power Take-Off (PTO) system, converting the wave induced motion of the ...

Farm accidents involving power take-off devices. [PDF]

open access: yesEmergency Medicine Journal, 1994
Primary prevention represents the optimum method of virtually abolishing the factors that lead to this injury scenario. Cooperative effort is required on the part of manufacturers, health education authorities and the user. The present situation is unsatisfactory.

A Fourier Approximation Method for the Multi-Pump Multi-Piston Power Take-Off System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, a frequency-domain method for the numerical solution of the nonlinear dynamics of a wave energy converter with a pumping system is presented. To this end, a finite Fourier series is used to describe the nonlinear force components, i.e., the
