PPARG-mediated ferroptosis in dendritic cells limits antitumor immunity

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2021
Dendritic cells (DCs) are antigen-presenting cells of the immune system, which play a key role in antitumor immunity by activating cytotoxic T cells. Here, we report that elevated ferroptosis, a lipid peroxidation-mediated cell death, impairs the maturation of DCs and their function in tumor suppression. Ferroptosis is selectively induced in DCs by the

Activation of PPARG inhibits dominant follicle development in cattle

Theriogenology, 2020
The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG, also called NR1C3) is a nuclear receptor of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor family (PPAR). PPARs are involved in the regulation of apoptosis, cell cycle, estradiol and progesterone synthesis, and metabolism.

Functionally conserved PPARG exonic circRNAs enhance intramuscular fat deposition by regulating PPARG and HSL

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Circular RNAs (circRNA) are a kind of endogenous biological macromolecules that play significant roles in many biological processes, including adipogenesis, a precisely orchestrated process that is mediated by a large number of factors. Among them, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG), is undoubtedly the most important regulator of ...

Spindle Cell/Sclerosing Rhabdomyosarcoma With PAX8::PPARG Fusion

International Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2022
The spindle cell/sclerosing subtype of rhabdomyosarcoma is classified based on genetic features into the three categories of MYOD1-mutated, gene fusion-driven, and a subset without a currently identified genetic driver event. The gene fusion-driven spindle cell/sclerosing rhabdomyosarcomas are heterogenous and characterized by increasing numbers of ...

[PPARG gene polymorphism and disease susceptibility].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2010
PPARgamma plays a key role in the regulation of adipocyte differentiation and energy balance. The polymorphism in human PPARG gene resulting in the substitution of Pro12 to Ala in the PPARgamma2 isoform has been established as conferring anti-diabetic and anti-obesity effects, especially in the conditions such as westernized lifestyle with high levels ...

EFFECT OF PPARG INHIBITION ON HUMAN BMSC CELL FATE

Orthopaedic Proceedings
The effects of dexamethasone (dex), during in vitro human osteogenesis, are contrasting. Indeed, dex downregulates SOX9 during osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (HBMSCs). However, dex also promotes PPARG expression, resulting in the formation of adipocyte-like cells within the osteogenic monolayers.
