Evaluation of susceptibility to Plum pox virus and European stone fruit yellows phytoplasma in Japanese plum and pluot cultivars

open access: yesHorticultural Science
Resistance to PPV and ESFY phytoplasma has been evaluated for Japanese plum ('Aphrodite', 'Black Amber', 'Crimson Glo', 'Santa Rosa') and pluot ('Dapple Supreme', 'Flav Queen', 'Flav Supreme') cultivars.

Optimization of cut‐hole layout under high in situ stress based on numerical simulation and field tests

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates the blast‐induced rock damage patterns under different cut‐hole layouts and ground stress conditions through numerical simulations and field tests. The findings in this study provide valuable insights for similar underground engineering applications.

Pars plana vitrectomy and scleral buckle versus pars plana vitrectomy alone for patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment: A prospective comparative study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ophthalmology and Research
Aim: The aim of the study was to compare pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with PPV combined with scleral buckle (SB) in the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) in a tertiary care hospital of central India.

Exploring wave propagation behaviors in rock: A grain‐based perspective on mineral structures

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates wave propagation in rock at the grain scale using a grain‐based model, revealing that mineral elastic modulus significantly influences wave attenuation while grain size and distribution have limited effects. A novel peak particle velocity attenuation prediction model is proposed and validated for grain‐scale wave propagation ...

Bayesian phylogenetic and recombination analyses of plum pox virus provide a refined vision of its evolutionary history

open access: yesVirology Journal
Background The discovery of a plum tree isolate of plum pox virus (PPV, Potyvirus plumpoxi), done in Eastern Albania in 2011 in the frame of an EU-funded survey, which represents a divergent strain named PPV-An, proved to be original and informative for ...

Instability mechanism and failure characteristics of underground cavern in block system under the action of seismic waves

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Seismic waves with tensile stress, high amplitude, and low frequency are most likely to trigger block instability and sliding. Blocks with a single sliding surface are more prone to movement than those with multiple constraints, and roof‐positioned blocks are especially vulnerable to slide.

Machine learning‐based prediction of elevated N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide among US general population

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 859-868, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Natriuretic peptide‐based pre‐heart failure screening has been proposed in recent guidelines. However, an effective strategy to identify screening targets from the general population, more than half of which are at risk for heart failure or pre‐heart failure, has not been well established.

Porcine parvovirus infection induces necroptosis of porcine placental trophoblast cells via a ZBP1-mediated pathway

open access: yesVeterinary Research
Porcine parvovirus (PPV) infection induces germ cell death, leading to reproductive disorders in first-pregnant sows. Porcine placental trophoblast cells (PTCs) are the major target of PPV, and we have previously found that PPV infection leads to the ...
