WAC Facilitates Mitophagy‐mediated MSC Osteogenesis and New Bone Formation via Protecting PINK1 from Ubiquitination‐Dependent Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, January 13, 2025.
WAC binds to PINK1, shielding it from ubiquitination degradation, thereby maintaining normal levels of mitophagy and positively regulating the osteogenic differentiation of MSCs. The absence of WAC results in the ubiquitination degradation of PINK1 at the K137 locus and a reduction in mitophagy levels, leading to impaired MSC osteogenesis.

Evaluation of the relationship between dietary acid load and cardiovascular risk factors in patients with type 2 diabetes: a case–control study

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackroundDiets high in dietary acid load are thought to be associated with metabolic diseases. However, the number of studies examining the relationship between dietary acid load and metabolic diseases in Turkey is insufficient. The aim of this study was

Physicochemical, Functional, Pasting, and Amino Acid Composition of Pouteria campechiana Nut Flours (Underutilized Crops): Impact of Different Thermal Processing

open access: yesJournal of Food Processing and Preservation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Canistel nuts (Pouteria campechiana) are underutilized sources of nutrients and phytochemicals, but their application is limited by the presence of antinutritional factors. Enhancing the nutritional value and bioavailability of these nuts requires processing methods that reduce or eliminate antinutrients, while also influencing their nutrient ...

High dietary acid load predicts severity of autoimmune skin disease: a cross-sectional study

open access: yesScientific Reports
No previous study has examined the association of an acid-base imbalanced diet to autoimmune bullous disease. The present study aimed to investigate the association between dietary acid load (DAL) as either potential renal acid load (PRAL) and net ...

Nonstoichiometry Promoted Solventless Recrystallization of a Thick and Compact CsPbBr3 Film for Real‐Time Dynamic X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 46, December 11, 2024.
Thick and compact CsPbBr3 film is prepared with a nonstoichiometric approach by capitalizing on the presence of excess volatile PbBr2 that induces melting point depression and promotes recrystallization of CsPbBr3 at a temperature much lower than its melting point.
