Model Experimental Study on De-Icing Method of Bridge Pylon Beam Based on Electric Heating

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The icing of bridge pylon crossbeams is a problem that could pose a serious threat to traffic during a cold winter. However, little research has been carried out on the problem and few corresponding countermeasures have been provided.

Pre-heating mitigates composite degradation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2015
Dental composites cured at high temperatures show improved properties and higher degrees of conversion; however, there is no information available about the effect of pre-heating on material degradation.

EFFECT OF STORAGE, PRE-HEATING AND TURNING DURING HOLDING PERIOD ON THE HATCHABILITY OF BROILER BREEDER EGGS [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Veterinary Journal, 2008
Two hundred forty fertile eggs of an average weight of 52-55g were taken from 32 weeks old broiler breeder flock. These eggs were divided into four groups i.e.

Effect of compressed pre-deformation on precipitation behavior of 7050 aluminum alloy during non-isothermal aging

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2020
TEM, DSC and other techniques were used to characterize the heating aging precipitation behavior of 7050 aluminum alloy under compression pre-deformation conditions, and the influence law and mechanism of pre-deformation on heating aging precipitation ...

Effect of preheating on the cytotoxicity of bulk-fill composite resins [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dental Research, Dental Clinics, Dental Prospects, 2020
Background. Due to the effect of pre-heating on the degree of conversion of composite resins and the possible effect on cytotoxicity, the effect of pre-heating of bulk-fill composite resins was investigated on cytotoxicity in this study. Methods. In this

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
