Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

A novel fixed-time smooth synchronization controller for stabilizing chaotic spacecraft formation

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
This article addresses two essential gaps in chaos synchronization. First, it studies fixed-time leader-follower spacecraft formation (LFSF) synchronization of multiple chaotic spacecraft systems, a previously unexplored area.

Test rig for study of pre-synchronization in gearboxes

open access: yes, 2015

open access: yes, 2013
In this study, the pregnancy rate of Doublesynch and Presynch-Ovsynch synchronization protocols, using bovine somatotropin hormone (bST), was compared at artificial insemination (AI) time, using first service cows.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Adaptive Hydrogels With Spatiotemporal Stiffening Using pH‐Modulating Enzymes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemomechanical coupling in an adaptive hydrogel is studied to further the development of adaptive hydrogels. This coupling is achieved by embedding a pH‐modulating enzyme in a pH‐responsive hydrogel. The enzymatic reaction can be triggered locally, which generates a pH‐decreasing wave throughout the system, increasing the crosslinking density and ...

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

Synchronization degree of a two-compartment neuron based on transcranial magnetic stimulation

open access: yesResults in Physics
Synchronization is a very important phenomenon in the nervous system, which is closely related to the encoding, integration and transmission of information. In this paper, synchronization and transition of a two-compartment respiratory neuron model under

Synchronization Controller for Seamless Interconnection of Mirogrids with Heterogeneous Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Microgrids are becoming inevitable establishments in modern power systems, may be to address energy needs in remote locations or to improve resiliency or for any other reason in the smart grid scenario. Over the time, during different operating scenarios,
