Correlation between serum prealbumin and prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatectomy

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2019

A Radioimmunoassay for Human Urinary Prealbumin

Annals of Clinical Biochemistry: International Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 1993
We describe a validated radioimmunoassay for prealbumin in urine. Using timed overnight urine samples, the normal reference range was less than 10–148μg/L; or less than 1·8–9·6μg/mmol creatinine, excretion in women being significantly greater than in men ( P<0–05); or less than 7–3–114 ng/min with no significant difference in excretion rate between

Purification of Prealbumin from Human Serum

Preparative Biochemistry, 1987
A method is presented by which prealbumin (thyroxine-binding prealbumin; tryptophan-rich prealbumin) may be purified to homogeneity from human serum. The method involves precipitation of contaminating proteins with dilute aqueous phenol, ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-Sephacel, and gel permeation chromatography on Sephadex G-100.

Thyroxine-induced conformational changes in prealbumin

Biochemistry, 1978
The effects of thyroxine binding on the conformation of human prealbumin and bovine serum albumin have been examined. A blue shift in protein absorption was observed with prealbumin, whereas a red shift was observed with bovine serum albumin. In the case of prealbumin, where the two binding sites are identical, the total absorption change was confined ...

[Prealbumin-associated hyperthyroxinemia].

Acta medica Austriaca, 1986
Prealbumin associated hyperthyroxinaemia represents a rare but important protein binding anomaly, causing difficulties in differential diagnostics. This anomaly is based on a variant prealbumin showing an increased affinity to T4 and rT3 and in some cases also when using T4 analogue tracers. The condition of the patient is clinically euthyroid which is

[Brain prealbumins].

Ukrainskii biokhimicheskii zhurnal (1978), 1981
The paper generalizes the results of research concerned with structural heterogeneity of the nervous system prealbumins, their posttranslation modifications, interactions and complexing with low- and high-molecular compounds as well as of individual prealbumins of the nervous tissue, their dynamic state in the brain-blood-cerebrospinal fluid system.

Prealbumin locus in chickens

Animal Blood Groups and Biochemical Genetics, 1970
SummaryThree different phenotypes of a weakly staining prealbumin migrating near the borate line during starch gel electrophoresis were found in chicken sera and egg yolks. It is shown that the synthesis of these phenotypes is determined by one autosomal locus with two alleles, PaA and PaB.The paper also presents the results of partial isolation of ...

Serum Prealbumin Decreases During Pregnancy

Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 1998
Abstract Prealbumin is widely used for nutritional monitoring of hospitalized patients since it is relatively unaffected by non-nutritional factors. This prospective study examined the influence of pregnancy on PA among 10 Pregnant (Preg) and 20 Non-pregnant (N-preg) women receiving care at a Medical Center.
