In vitro culture of bovine preantral follicles
Animal Reproduction Science, 2000Bovine preantral follicles (40-100 microm diameter at collection) were collected from ovaries of slaughtered cows and cultured in vitro with one of the four treatments: follicle stimulating hormone (FSH; 100 ng/ml) alone; FSH plus epidermal growth factor (EGF; 100 ng/ml); FSH plus insulin-transferrin-selenium (ITS; +1%) or FSH plus hypoxanthine (4 mM ...

Xenobiotic effects on ovarian preantral follicles.
Biology of reproduction, 2012Women are born with a finite population of ovarian follicles, which are slowly depleted during their reproductive years until reproductive failure (menopause) occurs. The rate of loss of primordial follicles is determined by genetic and environmental influences, but certain toxic exposures can accelerate this process.

In vitro folliculogenesis of rat preantral follicles.
Endocrinology, 1995The impact of various gonadotropic hormones on the growth and development of secondary follicles from primordial and primary follicles obtained by enzymatic dissociation of the ovaries of immature 14-day-old rats was studied in vitro. The substratum-adherent culture technique developed for studying folliculogenesis in the current study permitted direct

Molecular Reproduction and Development, 2019
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of kaempferol on the morphology, follicular activation, growth, and DNA fragmentation of ovine preantral follicles cultured in situ, and the effects of a phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K) inhibitor and

In vitro development of caprine ovarian preantral follicles
Theriogenology, 2000The in vitro growth and developmental pattern of caprine preantral follicles cultured in agar gel was observed. Preantral follicles 50 to 150 microm in diameter were isolated from prepuberal goat ovaries by treatment with collagenase and DNase. The isolated preantral follicles were cultured in agar gel for up to 14 days.

Advances and Challenges of Using Ovarian Preantral Follicles to Develop Biobanks of Wild Mammals
Biopreservation and Biobanking, 2019The extinction rate of mammalian species has been accelerated in recent decades. It therefore is important to preserve and store genetic materials in cryobanks for research purposes and subsequent production of offspring through assisted reproductive ...

In vitro development of sheep preantral follicles.
Biology of reproduction, 1999Preantral ovarian follicles isolated from prepubertal sheep ovaries were individually cultured for 6 days in the presence of increasing doses of FSH (ranging from 0.01 to 1 microg/ml) and under two different oxygen concentrations, 20% and 5% O2. Follicle development was evaluated on the basis of antral cavity formation as well as the presence of ...

Culture of goat preantral follicles in situ associated with mesenchymal stem cell from bone marrow
Zygote (Cambridge. Print), 2019Summary This study aims to develop an in vitro co-culture system of in situ goat preantral follicles with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSC), evaluating the influence of these cells on follicular growth, rate of activation and ...
