Influence of high‐pressure processing on nutritional composition and bioactive compounds of Phaseolus coccineus L

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 87, Issue 12, Page 5289-5302, December 2022., 2022
Abstract The influence of high‐pressure processing (HPP) prior to cooking on nutritional composition and bioactive compounds content of four varieties of Phaseolus coccineus L. was studied. Cooking and HPP+C increased the protein content. However, minerals, total carbohydrates, ciceritol and α‐galactosides were reduced.

Diverse gut microbiota pattern between mild and severe cancer‐related fatigue in lung cancer patients treated with first‐line chemotherapy: A pilot study

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 309-319, January 2023., 2023
Our study observed a plausible association between CRF and gut microbiota composition, with increasing proinflammation taxa in severe CRF patients and anti‐inflammation taxa growing in mild CRF patients. Abstract Background Cancer survivors perceive cancer‐related fatigue (CRF) as one of the most common symptoms.

Chemistry in the Galactic Center [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Gas and dust in the Galactic Center are subjected to energetic processing by intense UV radiation fields, widespread shocks, enhanced rates of cosmic-rays and X-rays, and strong magnetic fields. The Giant Molecular Clouds in the Galactic Center present a rich chemistry in a wide variety of chemical compounds, some of which are prebiotic.

Interactions between Parabacteroides goldsteinii CCUG 48944 and diet ameliorate colitis in mice via regulating gut bile acid metabolism

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
In this study, we explored the therapeutic effects of Parabacteroides goldsteinii (P. goldsteinii) on colitis and its underlying mechanisms. Our results indicate a significant reduction of P. goldsteinii in the stools of inflammatory bowel disease patients. We demonstrate the therapeutic potential of P.

Skin microbiome engineering: Challenges and opportunities in skin diseases treatment

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
The skin microbiome plays a crucial role in skin health, influencing barrier integrity, immune responses, and disease susceptibility. Various interventions can reshape the microbiome, broadly categorized into targeted and untargeted approaches. Targeted strategies, such as phage therapy, engineered bacteria, and phage lysins, selectively modulate ...
