An optimal procedure for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem with discounted cash flows and generalized precedence relations. [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we study the resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) with discounted cash flows and generalized precedence relations (further denoted as RCPSPDC-GPR).

UET-scheduling with chain-type precedence constraints

open access: yes, 1995
We consider a special case of the precedence constrained scheduling problem of n unit execution time jobs on two parallel machines without preemption: the precedence constraints are chain-type and each job can be processed on only one of the two machines.

A Constraint Programming approach to solve the clustering problem in open-pit mine planning [PDF]

open access: yesREM: International Engineering Journal
Since the open-pit precedence-constrained production scheduling problem is an NP-hard problem, solving it is always a challenging task, especially from a long-term perspective because a mineral deposit containing millions of blocks would require several ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Resource-constrained project scheduling. [PDF]

open access: yes
: Resource-constrained project scheduling involves the scheduling of project activities subject to precedence and resource constraints in order to meet the objective(s) in the best possible way. The area covers a wide variety of problem types.

Optimal task sequencing with precedence constraints

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1973
AbstractA given finite set of tasks, having known nonnegligible failure probabilities and known costs (or rewards) for their performance, can be performed sequentially until either one of the tasks fails or all tasks have been executed. The allowable task performance sequences are constrained only by certain precedence requirements, which specify that ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

HLSA – A New Hybrid List Scheduling Algorithm for Fog Computing

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies
A hybrid list scheduling algorithm is applied in fog computing with heterogeneity in available resources and incoming scheduling units. The scheduling units that need to be scheduled can be independent with no precedence constraints, so that tasks can be
