Monitoring Atmospheric Moisture Using GPS Precipitable Water Vapor
2017This article is aimed at indicating correlation between climatic changes and atmospheric moisture and precipitation using GPS precipitable water vapor values (PWV) and meteorological data in Khon Kaen, Thailand. PWV, average temperature, and precipitation data from 2001 to 2014 were analyzed to determine the changes over the time period. The estimation

GNSS Precipitable Water Vapour for Climate Monitoring
Aside from main geodetic applications, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is now an established observing system for atmospheric water vapour which is the most important greenhouse gas as it is responsible for around 60% of the natural greenhouse effect. Water vapour is under-sampled in the current climate-observing systems.Jens Wickert +4 more

Remote Sensing of Environment, 2017
Abstract This paper presents a new atmospheric precipitable water vapor (PWV) retrieval method based on three thermal infrared band observations from geostationary satellites. The proposed method is similar to the traditional physical split-window (PSW) retrieval technique, but a water vapor channel observation near 6.7 μm was included.

Statistical Estimation of Precipitable Water With SIRS–B Water Vapor Radiation Measurements
Monthly Weather Review, 1973Abstract A multiple-parameter model has been formulated to estimate precipitable water profiles above the standard pressure levels from the satellite infrared spectrometer B (SIRS–B) radiation observations taken from the Nimbus 4 satellite. The method was verified with coincident radiosonde data.

Precipitable Water Vapor in Atmospheres Characterized by Temperature Inversions
Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1977Abstract The total atmospheric precipitable water W has been measured with an infrared hygrometer for different atmospheric conditions and various seasons. Related to the simultaneous dew-point temperature Td at the surface, these data indicate that correct estimates of W can be given by the relationship lnW = a + b Td [first proposed by Reitan (1963)]

[Precipitable Water Vapor Retrieval with MODIS Near Infrared Data].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2018Precipitable water vapor (PWV) shows great significance in remote sensing quantitative application and ecological research. Aiming at solving the problems of traditional methods, an Improved Continuum Interpolated Band Ratio (ICIBR) algorithm was proposed based on the ratios of apparent reflectance of multi-channels in this paper.
