Transient receptor potential melastatin‐4 (TRPM4) is overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Knockout of TRPM4 resulted in reduced PCa tumor spheroid size and decreased PCa tumor spheroid outgrowth. In addition, lack of TRPM4 increased cell death in PCa tumor spheroids.

NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

The transient response of global-mean precipitation to increasing carbon dioxide levels [PDF]
The transient response of global-mean precipitation to an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels of 1% yr(-1) is investigated in 13 fully coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models (AOGCMs) and compared to a period of stabilization ...

Simulations of Summertime Ozone and PM2.5 Pollution in Fenwei Plain (FWP) Using the WRF-Chem Model
In recent years, ozone and PM2.5 pollution has often occured in the Fenwei Plain due to heavy emission and favorable geographical conditions. In this study, we used the weather research and forecasting/chemistry (WRF-Chem) model to reproduce the complex ...

Stable water isotopes in HadCM3: isotopic signature of El Nino-Southern Oscillation and the tropical amount effect [PDF]
Stable water isotopes have been added to the full hydrological cycle of the Hadley Centre Climate model (HadCM3) coupled atmosphere-ocean GCM. Simulations of delta O-18 in precipitation and at the ocean surface compare well with observations for the ...

CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

Quantification of Dislocation-Precipitate Interactions [PDF]
The present research is the first attempt to systematically quantify the dislocation-precipitate interaction in terms of applied shear stress, precipitate resistance, and the required time to reach the critical state of dislocation-precipitate interaction when a dislocation line is about to pass through precipitates.

Climate Dynamics: A Network-Based Approach for the Analysis of Global Precipitation [PDF]
Precipitation is one of the most important meteorological variables for defining the climate dynamics, but the spatial patterns of precipitation have not been fully investigated yet. The complex network theory, which provides a robust tool to investigate

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Aircraft Observations of Ice Particle Properties in Stratiform Precipitating Clouds
This study presented airborne measurements of ice particle properties in three stratiform precipitating clouds over northern China. By using horizontal observations at selected altitudes, the distributions of ice water content (IWC), particle habits, and
