Three-Dimensional Printed Attachments: Analysis of Reproduction Accuracy Compared to Traditional Attachments

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Background: The aim of this study was to propose a new 3D printing method for attachment production and compare the reproduction accuracy of traditional attachments with the proposed 3D-printed attachments. Methods: A standardized 3D model attachment was

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Using parse features for preposition selection and error detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We evaluate the effect of adding parse features to a leading model of preposition usage. Results show a significant improvement in the preposition selection task on native speaker text and a modest increment in precision and recall in an ESL error ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Field performance of a pneumatic row crop planter equipped with active toothed coulter for direct planting of corn in wheat residue

open access: yesSpanish Journal of Agricultural Research, 2013
In this research effects of active toothed coulter on planter penetration in semi-dried soils covered with previous wheat (triticum aestivum) residue was studied. Therefore, effects of three levels of speed ratio (coulter peripheral speed/tractor forward

Using a Probabilistic Class-Based Lexicon for Lexical Ambiguity Resolution

open access: yes, 2000
This paper presents the use of probabilistic class-based lexica for disambiguation in target-word selection. Our method employs minimal but precise contextual information for disambiguation. That is, only information provided by the target-verb, enriched

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

A Rare Case of Anomalous Origin of First Lumbrical from the Tendon of Flexor Digitorum Superficialis to Index Finger [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Human hand is involved in variety of precision work which requires a combined effort of forearm muscles as well as intrinsic muscles of hand. Lumbricals along with interossei muscles connect the tendons of flexor and extensor muscles and thus play a key
