Cascaded Dual-Soliton Pulse Stokes for Broadband Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
We report a spectrally and temporally cascaded dual-soliton Stokes excitation source for broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) based on a single Yb-doped fiber laser.

A newly conceived cylinder measuring machine and methods that eliminate the spindle errors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Advanced manufacturing processes require improving dimensional metrology applications to reach a nanometric accuracy level. Such measurements may be carried out using conventional highly accurate roundness measuring machines.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Inserting measurable functions precisely [PDF]

open access: yesCzechoslovak Mathematical Journal, 2014
A family \(\mathcal A\) of subsets of a set is called a \(\sigma\)-topology if it is closed under countable unions and finite intersections. A \(\sigma\)-topology is perfect if any of its member (open set) is a countable union of complements of open sets.

Design of a Modified Moiré Varifocal Metalens Based on Fresnel Principles

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper proposes a Fresnel-based Modified Moiré Varifocal Metalens (MMVL) addressing the inherent defocus at 0° rotation and significant focal quality degradation during varifocal operation in Traditional Moiré Varifocal Metalenses (TMVLs).

On-chip circulating tumor cells isolation based on membrane filtration and immuno-magnetic bead clump capture

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering, 2022
Isolating rare circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from blood is critical for the downstream analysis that is important in cancer-related research, diagnosis, and medicine, and efforts are ongoing to increase the efficiency and purity of CTC isolation in ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Precision of the transpulmonary thermodilution measurements [PDF]

open access: yesCritical Care, 2011
Abstract Introduction We wanted to determine the number of cold bolus injections that are necessary for achieving an acceptable level of precision for measuring cardiac index (CI), indexed global end-diastolic volume (GEDVi) and indexed extravascular lung water (EVLWi) by transpulmonary thermodilution.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
